I found this on Facebook today and wanted to ask people about this
What tree would you be?
This is a Bios Urn, a completely biodegradable urn that contains a single tree seed. When planted, the tree seed is nourished by and absorbs the nutrients from the ashes. The urn itself is made from coconut shell and contains compacted peat and cellulose. The ashes are mixed with this, and the seed placed inside. You can even choose which type of tree you’d like to grow!
What tree would you be? Think about this – instead of a tombstone you can visit your tree, water it, watch it grow. It is like spreading your ashes and leaving new roots. And if the seeds from this tree settle somewhere else your family tree grows. Which would give a whole new meaning to your “family tree”
I kind of like this idea.
Designed by Gerard Moline and Martin Azua, it’s basically an urn made of biodegradable materials (compacted peat, coconut shell and cellulose), which includes, besides your ashes, the seeds of a tree.
Once the urn disintegrates, the ashes will offer nutrients to the seed, which will grow into a beautiful tree.
Moline invented the Bio Urn for animals: the famous Copito de Nieve from the Barcelona Zoo is now the tree Calodendrum Capense.
Well then I did a Google search and found this
|These Blooming Biodegradable Urns are handcrafted from 100% recycled cotton fiber, natural plant material and wildflower seeds using century-old techniques. Each Urn uniquely captures the essence of a memory. They are designed to completely biodegrade over time returning the cremated remains to the earth. Each urn comes with a Blooming Expression adornment which can be planted to grow into a blooming wildflower memorial.http://www.imperialevergreen.com/bio-blooming-urn-230/|
So now you have choices….should you be a tree or a flower. I know this is totally off subject of the essence of my blog which is to help people with their health and wellness. I believe that quality of life is more important than quantity.
So if you want to live longer and healthier maybe we should talk and I will share my little secret with you.
